The semester ticket is the personalised public transport ticket for HSB students. With the start of the winter semester 2024/2025, we moved away from the previous semester ticket. Since October 24, there is no longer a (only) regionally valid ticket, because the semester ticket has become the D-SeTi, i.e. the Germany semester ticket.
What’s changing?
- The price: The D-SeTi will be cheaper than the previous semester ticket. It costs EUR 176.40 per semester (as of winter semester 24/25), almost EUR 14 less than the previous ticket.
- The area of validity. The previous semester ticket was only valid in certain regions. The D-SeTi will be valid nationwide.
- The issuing medium: The D-SeTi will be issued as a digital ticket; the laminated paper ticket with a glued-in passport photo will no longer be required.
- Carriage regulations: For the D-SeTi, the same rules apply as for the Deutschlandticket. This means that children up to the age of 6 can travel free of charge. For bicycles and dogs, separate tickets must usually be purchased. Folding bikes and scooters are carried free of charge, and so are small dogs within the Niedersachsentarif area of validity. On some routes, bicycles and dogs can be carried completely free of charge, please check with the relevant transport company before travelling.
Tip
If you are travelling long-distance by train (not with the D-SeTi), children up to and including the age of 14 can travel free of charge. More information on the Deutsche Bahn website .
How do I get the ticket?
As the D-SeTi is only issued as a digital ticket, the ticket medium is now also changing.
The D-SeTi can be accessed using the ‘Campus HSB’ app, which is available in the App Store and Google Play Store . From SoSe 2025, the ticket has an offline function valid for 28 days. As the ticket is only valid from the start of the semester, it can only be accessed at the start of the semester. Further information can be obtained from the HSB .
No mobile device = no ticket?
During the negotiations on the D-SeTi, the AStA made sure that all students are free to choose whether they want to access the ticket via a mobile device (e.g. smartphone) or receive a chip card.
If a chip card is applied for, the option to retrieve the ticket digitally, e.g. via smartphone, is cancelled.
Please note: |
The chip cards can only be sent to addresses within Germany and your access to the digital ticket will be blocked as soon as the chip card has been sent to you. It is therefore not possible to use the chip card and the digital ticket at the same time. To ensure that you receive your chip card in time for the start of the semester, we recommend that you complete and sign the application form four weeks before the start of the semester and send it to us by e-mail to asta@hs-bremen.de hand it in personally at the AStA office Neustadtswall or send it by post. |
Cancel your upgrade tickets now
As the new D-SeTi will be valid as a D-ticket, an upgrade ticket will no longer be required. As upgrade tickets are not automatically cancelled, any existing upgrade should be cancelled to avoid unnecessary costs.
